We are writing to tell you that the U.S. Congress is considering legislation known as the “Safe Drug Compounding Act” that would severely limit the ability of compounding pharmacists to fill prescriptions for bioidentical hormones. This legislation could make it impossible for millions of women and men to gain access to safe and natural hormone replacement therapies. The measure, which was drafted by Senator Edward Kennedy (D-Massachusetts), could be presented to a Senate Committee any day.

Fortunately, we have time to stop this legislation before it comes to a vote. This email provides you with an easy way to tell Congress to defeat this measure. While powerful interests are trying to stop your access to bioidentical hormones, this is a fight that we can win. In October 2005, pharmaceutical giant Wyeth asked the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to restrict access to bioidentical hormones. Tens of thousands of us wrote letters to the FDA asking it to reject the petition. As a result, the FDA set aside the petition.
